Book Shelf Tour 2018

ddddd

Howdy Bookworms! I’m a little bummed out today, I unfortunately have a cold and was supposed to hang out at my favorite reading cafe with my mother but she is also sick. Also my boyfriend was sick over the weekend and I was trying to avoid him like he was the devil trying to make a deal with me but I still ended up feeling gross. Damn him!

Today I thought I can give you guys a little insight into my reading world right in my room were I have all my lovely gems stacked up on my Billy Bookcases from Ikea. Before I show you the goods I would like to explain that this year or as of right now I had to re collect books. When me and my boyfriend were driving across the United States are house was robbed, and if you have ever experience this my condolences. Its not the best feeling in the world when you work hard every day to have everything taken from you. I cherish two things in this world that are items and that’s my children books given or passed down to me and my Nanna’s sewing machine. Luckily at the time my sewing machine was not at the house but my favorite books and classic books were gone unfortunately.

With that being said my shelf’s are not fully full…its a working progress and I will be there one day again.

So sit back and enjoy the tour.

IMG_1455.jpg

Now if you look straight ahead you will see three Billy Book Shelf’s from Ikea. Two of them from the outside are the same and the one in the middle is a skinny shelf. Let me give you a tip here, lets call it Book Shelf’s 101…If you do plan on going to Ikea to purchase these rad shelf’s have them build it for you…pay that extra amount because I did not do it and I must be one of the most impatient person ever! I get frustrated if I cant figure it out or if it does not go my way when it comes to building things. Lego’s, KNex any of that stuff forget about it.

What had happen was….I originally had another book shelf so there was supposed to be four all together and well I destroyed one. I didn’t mean to it’s just not my cup of tea when it comes to putting things together.  My boyfriend was working and also working on his own projects that he couldn’t help me, at least not at that moment and since I was excited I took it to myself to build the shelf’s. I didn’t know it at the time but if you do build it yourself and something happens you can return it to get another in its place. I however did not do that and basically said forget it. But I ended up getting a sewing desk next to the shelf’s to replace that missing shelf. So at the end it worked out and I totally made sure the Ikea people build the desk this time around.

Moving on guys…

In a Galaxy far far away there was this amazing Star Wars book shelf. If you are a Star Wars fan you are automatically my BFF.  Enough Said.

The books that started it all for me. The Warriors series by Erin Hunter. Thanks to these amazing books I started to get into real serious reading. I had the original copies when they first came out and now I need to re collect the series. Has anyone else heard of these lovely gems? My all time favorite book/series growing up.

ggfggf.jpg

At the bottom of the shelf I have my Fairyloot boxes that I hold onto. In between are the Wicked series and the two amazing autobiography’s from Holly Madison and vivica A. Fox. Last book The Abduction I purchased for only 25 cents at my local library across the street from my home, they have a used book shop in there…amazing!

ikikiki.jpg

Starting at the bottom of the shelf in the middle would be some awesome gems like the Villains series by Serena Valentino. Some bookish candles that I created that you can find at my Etsy shop here. Let’s not forget Snow White Funko pop!

fggfgh.jpg

Some more Funko pop characters. My favorite is Starfire! Some bookish candles I received in my Fairyloot boxes this year. Have some pretty awesome series that are on my TBR list. Which I hear nothing but good things about for all of them.

hgh.jpg

More and more Funko pops! And more amazing gems in the back.

gbghg.jpg

My olgy books that I have collected over the years as a kid. Luckily for me these were left behind and one of the best books in my collection I had that I cherish the most. Absolutely love these books.

yjnghj

At the right of the shelf’s starting from the bottom here are some of my Owlcrate book boxes I hold onto. In between are some lovely gems, actually looking at this picture while I type I realized I should put the Owlcrate books in between the boxes and the same with the Fairyloot…hmmm might just do that after this post.

hgnjhjj.jpg

A shelf with some amazing books. See any you have read?

gfbgbgb.jpg

Some books that were given to me. The book Anything Can Happen By George Papashvily was published in the 40’s is the oldest book I own and recently purchased it at a vintage shop here in Vegas.

nhhj.jpg

Last but defiantly not least are my awesome Fables comic books. For those of you who know the show Once Upon A Time, Fables is just like the show (They got the idea from Fables actually) its fairy tale cross over but for adults. To the right is my Showgirls Of Las Vegas which is signed by Nancy Williams before she passed away and she was a showgirl in the 40’s.

Well that is all for the Book Shelf 2018 tour. Thank you for stopping by and taking a look. I look forward in the next couple years looking back at this post and seeing the growth of my book shelf’s. TTFN.

Untitled

Hey Bookworms! I’m just gonna get right to it since I’m so excited to share this with you. Since I joined the book blog community all these wonderful Book Tags are just so addicting and fun and well I wanted to create one as well. 20 Questions Book Tag

Untitled

Howdy Bookworms! Here is yet another Book Tag for you. Thank you Flowers In the Brain for tagging me in this lovely Book Tag. Once said and will say it again, Bookworms scouts honor to tell the truth and nothing but the truth. Here we go!

  1. HOW MANY BOOKS IS TOO MANY BOOKS IN A BOOK SERIES?

It would depend on the author for me. If the story is one big adventure and so many characters to get to know and character growth and the writing is well put together in detail then the sky is the limit for me.

2.  HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT CLIFFHANGERS?

Cliffhangers can be good. Sometimes. Hmm.

3. HARD COPY OR PAPERBACK?

I’m all in for the hardcovers and here is why. I love how they look on my bookshelf’s and I feel all sorts of good/comfy vibes holding a hardcover book unless I’m reading more then two hours then my wrists start to get sore.

4. FAVORITE BOOK?

I have a lot of faves, but so far for 2018 will have to be Heartless! WAIT! Ace Of Shades! NO WAIT! The Cruel Prince! Yes that’s the one.

5. LEAST FAVORITE BOOK?

For 2018 and maybe for all books so far, which takes a lot for me to not like a book would have to be Emergency Contact By Mary H. K. Choi. I was expecting so much more I guess.

6. LOVE TRIANGLES? YES OR NO?

I’m gonna go right in the middle and say sometimes. If the author can pull it off nicely and make some juicy, dangerous, creative, and twisted love triangle then I’m all in.

7. THE MOST RECENT BOOK YOU JUST COULDN’T FINISHED?

None so far and I hope to keep it that way. No fun when you have to put a book down.

8. BOOK YOU’RE CURRENTLY READING?

Doing more tags and reading them on other post I noticed this is the main question on all Book Tags. I mean of course it’s going to be asked but when doing tags we should just automatically put are current read in are post before we begin the questions, kinda like when you go to a meeting and you introduce your self! “Hi my name is and I’m here for….” It could be a introduction for us Bookworms..Something like this “My current read Hocus Pocus & The All New Sequel By A. W. Jantha” Hmm Yes? No? Maybe? I don’t know just thinking out loud.

9. LAST BOOK YOU RECOMMENDED TO SOMEONE?

The Cruel Prince By Holly Black to a new friend I made at the Barnes And Noble Book Club last month.

10. OLDEST BOOK YOU READ?

Hmmm does a Dictionary count? If not Anything Can Happen By George Papashvily published in the 40’s.

11. NEWEST BOOK YOU’VE READ?

My current read Hocus Pocus & The All New Sequel By A. W. Jantha any how it’s not a completed read yet but it will be 🙂

12. FAVORITE AUTHOR?

Right now Marissa Meyer!

13. BUYING BOOKS?

All day everyday baby!

14. A BOOK YOU DISLIKE THAT EVERYONE ELSE SEEMS TO LOVE?

Nope, unless Emergency Contact By Mary H. K. Choi but I think most others would agree!?

15. BOOKMARKS OR DOG EARRINGS?

Bookmarks all the way!

16. A BOOK YOU CAN REREAD?

Warriors By Erin Hunter. The whole series and every book I want to reread them!

17. CAN YOU READ WHILE LISTENING TO MUSIC?

Only if its Lofi! But I prefer absolute silence.

18. ONE POV OR MULTIPLE POVS?

Multiple POVs! Gives me the opportunity to know each character and have more of a understanding on a situation and how they feel about an event or the other character in the story.

19. DO YOU READ A BOOK IN ONE SETTING OR OVER MULTIPLE DAYS?

Multiple days. I tend to take my time when it comes to reading, unless the book is just so darn incredible but even so I have a busy schedule thru out the day that I don’t have enough time in the day to complete one whole book in a day.

20. ONE BOOK YOU READ BECAUSE OF THE COVER?

The book that started it all for me, the book that pushed me to read more and more…

  • Carving pumpkins!
  • Oh and my birthday is in fall, November 13th.

3.  WHAT’S, ACCORDING TO YOU, A PERFECT HALLOWEEN / OCTOBER READ?

My current read right now, Hocus Pocus & The All New Sequel By A. W. Jantha

IMG_1412

4. WHO / WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO START BLOGGING?

What inspired me to start my book blog was to meet other bookworms out there in this big old world. My best friends, my boyfriend, and even my family are not readers. I have no one to discuss and fan girl over books. Books are my life and I want to share that passion with others who share the same. I mean I do have a lot to say when it comes to books and I need to let it all out one way or another and I guess that’s blogging.

5. HOW MANY BOOKS DO YOU OWN THAT YOU HAVEN’T READ YET?

One moment please…49! All of them are on my TBR list 🙂

6. WHAT DOES YOUR PERFECT SELF- CARE DAY / NIGHT / WEEKEND LOOK LIKE?

I do have a lot of self-care days. During the day it’s sipping on some hot tea and taking Pop’s for his daily walk. Sewing, and lots of it. The rest of the day it’s more hot tea and reading! Little time spending with my boyfriend. Been with him for 10 years so I like to hang out in the bedroom where I have all my books while he is in the living room playing his games (The more the years go on we do are own thing but in the same house hold) HA! I don’t know why that puts a smile on my face but it did because playing online games like COD (Call Of DUTY) was always in my daily plan. NOT ANY MORE. But the perfect self care for me is just being me and doing what I love everyday and truth is that took me awhile to do. Make yourself happy and focus on your true hobbies that you are thrilled to do because if you don’t your mind will go nuts one way or another?! I hope I answered this correctly.

7. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE BOOK COVER EVER?

This bad boy right here! Willa Of The Wood By Robert Beatty. This cover just speaks nature to me. The green and blue just UGH so stunning.

919kQRwIhwL

8. ARE THERE WORDS / TERMS THAT IMMEDIATELY TURN YOU OFF A BOOK? WHICH ONES? WHY?

Hmm very good question. No there is not. At least not right now.

9. IS THERE A GENRE YOU RARELY READ BUT DO LOVE READING?

Autobiography books. I do enjoy reading stories from others and what they experience. I remember when I read Marilyn Manson’s autobiography in freshmen year in high school…one and only one thing came to mind..TMI…and wow rock and roll man! Two things I guess.

10. MUNCHES! WHAT NATIONAL / LOCAL DISH ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF?

CALAMARI! Yes I love Calamari, I always look forward to a plate of this deliciousness.

11. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE BOOKISH ITEM?

Bookish candles. So so many creative ones and they smell fantastic which is a plus. I like to put the bookish candles on my shelf by the book that the candle belongs to. Anyone else do that?

Book Blog Newbie Tag

Untitled

I guess this should of been my very first Book Tag. But that’s okay better late then never. Before I jump into these lovely questions I found this Book Tag on Much Ado About Literature

Lets Begin..

WHY DID YOU START THIS BLOG?

To keep tract of all my book reviews in one place where I can call home. Seriously, to make new friends that have the same interest as me. Where I’m from people are shock when they learn that I read books and I will never understand why they think I’m not a bookworm. My best friend and boyfriend and everyone else around me do not read so therefore I have no one to discuss books with. I have a home here on my blog where I can express exactly how I feel towards the things I love, which is books and share the same passion with other bookworms.

WHAT ARE SOME FUN AND UNIQUE THINGS YOU CAN BRING TO BOOK BLOGGING?

Honesty, Personality, Just being me. But I’m sure you heard these one to many times. But there is no one out there like me and there’s no one out there like you. One fun thing I would like to do is create my own Book Tags, maybe? I don’t know yet, If I have the time I just might do it because I do have something in mind 😉

WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED FOR ABOUT THIS NEW BLOG?

MEETING WONDERFUL BOOKWORMS AROUND THE WORLD! Considering I might be the only Bookworm living in Las Vegas that doesn’t drink or hang out at the strip and rather stay home and drink some hot tea and read a book. Golly! How old am I?

WHY DO YOU LOVE READING?

To get away from my life! I’m just kidding my life is amazing. We live in a world with no magic and no mystical creatures, no dark twisted crimes or truths (For some of us anyways) I enjoy reading for the fantasy vibes, you know what I’m saying?! Yes to escape this boring mortal world to enter a world that might not really exist but for those hours I’m reading they exist and that means for me for that moment I’m in a whole new world with new characters and new adventures that I get to experience.

WHAT BOOK OR SERIES GOT YOU INTO READING?

I’m glad you asked. Warriors by Erin Hunter. I will always and forever be proud to have read these lovely, amazing books growing up. When I was younger I was obsessed reading different Encyclopedia books and my two favorite books was the Google Encyclopedia and the Cat Encyclopedia.

e864140be0e4ea2bd1139bbbd820bb5e-w204@1xs-l300

Holy Cow! Total book geek. Since I loved cats and one time in my life I wanted to be some animal behavior expert that sits around under a tree taking notes and pictures of Tigers, Lions, and Leopards. While I was in that little zone as a kid I found the Warriors series at Barnes And Noble and because there was a cat on the cover I had to have it and YES! My reading has developed into more stories then facts but that’s the beauty of reading, at least for me.

WHAT QUESTIONS WOULD YOU ASK YOUR FAVORITE AUTHORS?

I get star struck. I freeze up and my smile is so wide but nothing is coming out of my mouth. I will NEVER get the chance to ask any questions in person, I will be standing there with the book in my hand hoping they will do the talking for me. Jeeze, how embarrassing right! I’m sure I’m not the only one. AKWARD!

WHAT CHALLENGES DO YOU THINK STARTING A BLOG WILL BE THE HARDEST TO OVERCOME?

I don’t know any challenges that I can think of. I have all the time to be blogging so time wont be a challenge. I’m on here to meet new bookworms like myself so engaging with others or keeping up with post wont be a challenge. The only thing I can think of that is kind of a  minor challenge would have to be my spelling and grammar on here. I mean this is a book blog and I read a lot but I’m still not the best in the world when it comes to spelling. I get really excited to post a new blog so I type fast so I can make sure I get everything on my mind down without forgetting anything and I just might skip a word or a letter somewhere and if I do just give me that shout!

WHEN DID YOU START READING?

I really don’t know. But what I do know it was at a very young age that I can read for myself. Something I would have to ask my Ma she knows the exact age!

WHERE DO YOU READ?

Under a cactus…

Seriously…

I have only three spots I read and a cactus is not one of them.  If I have the time in the morning to read its on my couch with my legs kicked up (Movie theater style couches) which is in my living room.

IMG_1443

Yes I took this picture when I was writing this post.

Who is that on the couch?

That’s Pops! He’s my crazy pooch who naps thru out the day.

Now my second and most favorite spot to read would be my BED! I’m pretty sure 99% of us bookworms do most of our readings on are cozy beds.

IMG_1445

Did I make the bed before I took this picture? You bet your buns I did!

Last but not least would be my porch. So how it works considering I live in a desert and it gets to be over 100 degrees here in the summer you will NOT see me outside reading a book. Once fall is here like pretty much now I start to sit outside my porch once the sun sets and cools down at night to read for a couple hours out there. Sorry no picture since I am working on my porch to get it ready for full reading this season.

WHAT KIND OF BOOKS DO YOU LIKE TO READ?

I love all books. But at the end of the day it will always be YA. Fantasy, action, and of course a complicated love story with some danger thrown into the story. I need some mystical creature sometimes too and don’t forget a crazy villain too, we always need one of those!

Well folks that is all from this Book Tag today. If you had finished this then you know a little more about me,  I love to hear what you think so drop some comments down below! TTFN.

The Cruel Prince By Holly Black

the-cruel-prince-cover-669x1024

Title: The Cruel Prince

Author: Holly Black

Publisher: Little Brown

Pages: 370

                                                 Rating: th6UTD2VT7th6UTD2VT7th6UTD2VT7th6UTD2VT7th6UTD2VT7

Well I’m ruined for the rest of the day. Just finished this amazing gem and I’m completely hungover from it. I really don’t know what to do with myself and I need more of this story.

This was my first Holly Black story I read from her and it is truly a wonderful, dark, magical story. UGHHH I seriously can not wait for the second book The Wicked King! I could not put this book down. I kept going and the ending was a shock for me.

Are main character Jude who is mortal living in the Fey world among with her twin sister Taryn deal with a lot of bullying from others that are not mortal. Jude wants to be nothing but a respected knight in the monarch court. Her dark journey finding the truth about the ones she loves and the ones that are among her are truly fascinating and makes you want more.

Holly Black did a wonderful job writing this story out where you can literally visualize everything in your head like a movie. I’m always focused when I’m reading but there are a lot of characters in this book where you do need to focus because I did have to flip back pages to be like “Wait! Who?”

Mystical creatures, betrayal, a dark world where mortals are looked down at. A royal family fighting for the crown and one big secret…Yes this book brought all of this. Epic journey of finding the truth and the main character Jude finding out who she truly is when she was that person from the beginning.

Also I would like to say that Jude’s birthday is the same day as mine 🙂

Are you in for this epic read because I was stuck in the book the moment I started the first page and wanted to know more of Jude and her life with others that bully her and how she copes in this world with faeries.

This book was on my TBR list for a long time and I wish I read this a lot sooner then I did. I’m thrilled I finally got the opportunity to read this and is now one of my top favorite reads of 2018.

Ready to leave the mortal world and enter the epic world of Fey?
